Thinking out loud

Switching off

Who’s ready to power down? We certainly are. It’s always been Studio 2br policy to close for Christmas and we’ve managed to do just that for nine of the last ten years (Christmas 2011 is a story in its own right).

We love what we do and we give it everything we’ve got, day in and day out. But at the end of a busy year, for us the only way to switch off is to actually switch everything off. We’ll be closing on Friday December 21 until the new year.

It’s been a super busy year

And it has been a super busy year. We’ve made films in locations as far-flung as Berlin, Dubai, Jakarta and California. If you’re jetting off for Christmas from London City or Frankfurt, you’ll see our global brand campaign for Deutsche Bank in the airports.

We’ve worked on brand strategies, rethought and redesigned product literature and created internal communications campaigns on topics as diverse as anti-financial crime and employee volunteering.

We’re moving
Some of our team moved house, and 2br is getting ready to move too. With the team growing to include more digital design, film editing and a studio manager, we need more space to think, write and design. Clerkenwell will still be our manor—we’re moving just around the corner.

Ready to go again
Of course closing for Christmas means there are a few days here and there when our clients may be at work when we’re not. And that does rather go against the grain. But we believe it’s more than made up for by a team recharged and ready to go again after downtime spent with family and friends and remembering what it’s all for.
